Also, when gemstones are heated, the colour might alter or fade. Therefore, do not expose gemstones to prolonged direct sunlight in order to avoid overheating. When getting ready for a night out, jewellery should be the last thing you put on after applying make-up and should not come in contact with perfumes, cologne, hairspray or other chemicals.
